Domino's style garlic bread recipe – delicious cheese-filled garlic bread was first introduced by Dominos. INGREDIENTS: For preparing garlic butter: - Garlic, 10 to 12 flakes
- Butter, 2 to 4 tbsp
- Oregano, for seasoning
- Rec chilli flakes, for seasoning
For preparing the dough: - 1/2 cup, warm water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp, dry yeast
- 1 cup, all purpose flour/maida
- 1 tsp, salt
- 1 tsp, red chilli flakes
- 1 tsp, oregano
For making garlic bread: - Fine semolina/ corn meal
- Grated cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- Red chilli flakes
- Oregano
METHOD: For making garlic butter: - In a mixer jar, grind the garlic flakes into a smooth paste.
- Take butter in a bowl, add 2 tbsp of garlic paste.
- Add red chilli flakes, oregano and mix well.
- Keep aside.
For activating the yeast: - Take half a cup of warm water in a bowl,
- Add 1 tbsp of sugar, and dissolve it completely.
- Add 2 tsp of dry yeast and let it activate.
- After few minutes you can see bubbles formed. That is when it's activated.
- Keep aside.
For making the dough: - In a large bowl, add the all purpose flour/maida.
- Add salt, chilli flake and oregano. Mix well.
- Add in the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Add warm water little by little and let the dough come together.
- Now add in 2 tbsp garlic butter and mix the dough.
- Knead the dough on a workbench for about 10 to 12 minutes. Tuck the dough in circular motion. The dough should be a soft pliable dough.
- Grease the bowl with oil and rest the prepared dough in it covered with a soft cloth or a cling wrap.
- Rest it for about 45 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
For making garlic bread: - Once the dough is doubled in size, punch the dough and knead it for 5 minutes.
- Divide the dough into two portions.
- Roll one portion of the dough with rolling pin into a round shape. Thickness shouldn't be too thick or thin. Let it be a medium one.
- Sprinkle the oven tray with some fine semolina/corn meal.
- Lay the rolled dough in the tray.
- Apply a layer of garlic butter on it.
- Add grated cheese on a part of it. Season with chilli flakes and oregano.
- Apply water on the edges of the rolled dough.
- Fold it into half and seal the edges.
- Apply a layer of garlic butter on top.
- Sprinkle some semolina/corn meal. Season with chilli flakes and oregano.
- Pre heat the oven.
- Place the tray in the oven and bake it at 180 degree Celsius for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Once done, remove from the oven and cut it into pieces and serve hot.
