Quesadilla




A quesadilla is a heated tortilla with melted cheese inside. But in addition to cheese, you can put practically anything in a quesadilla.
Serves - 2

INGREDIENTS:

  •   Corn Tortillas - 4
  •   Onion – Finely chopped – 1cup
  •   Grated cheese – 1cup
  •   Green chillies – Finely chopped – 2
  •   Red chilli flakes – For seasoning
  •   Oregano – For seasoning
  •   Butter
  •   Salt

METHOD

  1. Apply a layer of butter on both the sides of tortillas. Place it on a pre-heated skillet and on a low flame.
  2. Take a handful of grated cheese and sprinle on the tortilla. Add good amount of onions, green chillies.
  3. Season with red chilli flakes, oregano and salt as per the taste.
  4. Close it with another tortilla applied with butter.
  5. Let it cook on low flame for a minute or two until the cheese melts and the tortillas stick to each other.
  6. Flip the tortilla once its cooked, and cook it on other side as well.
  7. The tortilla should by now be browned slightly.
  8. Remove quesadilla from the pan and cut it into wedges.


TIP 

Serve it with salsa, sour cream and guacamole.

You can even add sweet corn, mushrooms, jalepenos, olives, tomatoes etc.for variation.
Take care not to layer on the ingredients to thickly.

If the quesadilla begins to smoke too much, remove from the heat.
