Set Dosa


Set dosa is a popular breakfast served in most fast food or tiffin centers. A set of soft and thick spongy dosas are served with coconut chutney and vegetable saagu.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup parboiled rice
  • 1 cup raw rice
  • 1/2 cup urad dal
  • 1/4th tsp baking soda(optional)
  • 1/4th tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
METHOD:
  1. Wash and soak rice and dal in water together in a bowl for 4 hours.
  2. Drain water and grind to a smooth dosa batter by adding required amount of water.
  3. Transfer the batter to a bowl, add salt and let it ferment for about 12-15 hours.
  4. Before making the dosa add sugar and soda, mix well and the batter is ready.
  5. Heat a non stick tawa, pour a ladle of batter into small, thick dosas.
  6. Cook on medium flame, you spot tiny holes, that's when you add oil and flip the dosa to cook on the other side for few seconds.
  7. Make another dosa in the same way and serve a set of dosas with coconut chutney and saagu.
  8. Garnish dosa with grated carrot and finely chopped coriander leaves.
