INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 2 to 3 medium sized potatoes, boiled and grated
- 1 tbsp chiroti rava
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Salt, as required
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
- Oil for deep frying
- Water, as required
METHOD:
- In a large mixing bowl, add wheat flour, chiroti rava and grated potato.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin seeds, salt and coriander leaves. Mix well.
- Add water little by little and knead well to form a stiff dough.
- Make a tight and stiff dough to prepare pooris.
- Divide the dough into lemon size balls.
- Roll them into even circles using rolling pin.
- Meanwhile heat oil for deep frying in a pan.
- When the oil is sufficiently hot, add one rolled poori.
- Press it with a spoon to puff it up.
- Once it puffs up turn it over.
- Fry them until light golden brown in color. Remove it onto a tissue paper to remove excess oil.
- Serve them hot with any gravy or pickle.
