Street Style Chatpata Bun


A quick evening snack that can be prepared in a jiffy. Perfect for a tea time healthy snack. A popular street snack that tickles your taste buds with its tangy flavor. Its also a kids friendly snack for an after school snack cravings.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 to 6 white buns
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cucumber
  • 2 green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 to 2 tbsp coriander-mint or green chutney
  • 2 tbsps coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
METHOD:
  1. Heat butter on a tawa or pan.
  2. Cut the bun into two halves.
  3. Toast the buns on the white side for a minute and keep aside.
  4. Now in a large bowl, add all the ingredients and mix well. This is our stuffing.
  5. Place the stuffing on the lower part of the bun and cover it with the other part.
  6. Serve this along a cup of tea or coffee.
Tip: You can add few pieces of corn flakes, nippat, or murukku to the stuffing for a crunchy effect.
