Ghee Rice


Ghee rice is one of the simple one pot aromatic rice recipe that can be prepared in a jiffy. Ghee rice is a mildly flavored rice. For the best taste and aroma, do use fresh, pure desi ghee if available.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup basmati rice, cooked
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 3-4 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 inch cinnamon
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 3-4 cardomoms
  • 6-8 cashews, sliced
  • Ghee
METHOD:
  1. Heat ghee in a wok/pan. Add bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves.
  2. Add green chillies, onions and saute until translucent.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute until raw smell goes.
  4. Add cashews and fry until golden brown.
  5. Mix cooked basmati rice well to the mixture, add salt as required.
  6. Serve it hot with daal, veg gravy or kurma.
