Cheese Paratha



An easy, irresistible cheesy paratha is a treat to all cheese-lovers especially kids. A cheese stuffing with spices gives the whole wheat parathas a delectable dish. 

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 cups grated processed cheese
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil for cooking parathas
For the dough:
  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1/4th teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • Water, to knead the dough
METHOD:
Make the dough:
  1. In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, salt and oil by adding water as required.
  2. Knead to form a smooth and soft dough for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Cover and let the dough rest for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Divide the flour into 4-6 equal parts.
Make the filling:
  1. In a bowl, add the grated cheese.
  2. Add chopped green chillies, coriander leaves, cumin powder, garam masala powder and salt and mix well.
Make the parathas:
  1. Take one of the dough ball, with a rolling pin roll the dough into a small circle.
  2. Place 3-4 tablespoons of the filling in the center.
  3. Bring all the edged together and seal it together.
  4. Flatten the dough using hands and roll using a rolling pin to a 6-7 inch circle.
  5. On a hot tawa, transfer the rolled paratha and cook on one side for about a minute or two.
  6. Apply oil on one side and flip it to cook on another side by applying oil.
  7. Press with a spatula and cook the parathas on both sides until brown spots appear.
  8. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
  9. Serve the hot parathas with any gravy, curd or pickle.
